Tracy Morgan continues to show signs of improvement as he recovers from a multi-vehicle crash that left him seriously injured.
After being in critical condition for nine days at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the condition of the 45-year-old comedian was upgraded to fair, and on Friday, June 20, he left the hospital and was transferred to a rehabilitation facility.
"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks," Lewis Kay, spokesman for Morgan, said in a statement sent to People. "While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go."
Kay continued: "While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go. He and (fiancée) Megan (Wollover) wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him."
On June 10, Wollover also took to her Facebook account to thank all the people who have been praying for Morgan's quick recovery.
Wollover wrote: "Thank you so much for the outpour of support following the accident. Your well wishes mean more than you can imagine, and I know that Tracy can feel the love and positive energy... Please continue to keep Tracy and the others in your thoughts and prayers throughout their recovery."
Wollover also wishes for the fast recoveries of Morgan's manager Jeffrey Millea, 36, and fellow comedian Ardie Fuqua Jr., 43, who were also seriously injured in the accident. She also paid tribute Morgan's friend and comedy writer James "Jimmy Mack" McNair, 62, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Along with everyone else, I too hope that Jeff and Ardie have full and speedy recoveries" she said in the post. "And to Jimmy Mack, you will truly be missed. You have always been someone very special to Tracy and all of us, and the world will not be the same without you."
Meanwhile, Kevin Roper, the Walmart truck driver who hit Morgan's limo bus, was confiremd to have been speeding prior to the accident, according to the preliminary report released by authorities Thursday, June 19.
"We remain mindful of the victims and continue to express our deepest sympathies to the family of James McNair, and our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery of those who suffered injuries in the accident," said Roper's attorney in a statement sent to TV Guide.
"While this case continues to remain in the spotlight, we have no interest in commenting on rumor or speculation, exchanging a news conference for a jury, or sacrificing Mr. Roper's presumption of innocence for a sound bite," Roper's attorney added.
